I wanted to know if anyone has met someone on this site? either for a friendship or a relationship I get the feeling that some people who join are not serious about meeting someone.

We haven't set up a testimonial section for any of the sites in the network, so we don't have an area to point to regarding this topic...but we thought we should pass along a little info. based on what we see.
When members delete their accounts, we ask them to let us know why they are leaving.
A lot of people answer with the somewhat vague comment 'I have met someone'...which of course doesn't mean they met their someone on one of our sites, but it does mean they are leaving because they are now in a relationship of some sort.
Some people do say things like 'I met someone on your site'...and others just say 'I'm dating now and I don't want my profile online'.
We have had at least one send us a message that they are getting married to someone they met on one of our sites.
While many of the sites in the network have a community feel, most are built around the concept of dating...and based on the comments we see, that seems to be a reason for deleting accounts.
(We may add a 'make profile invisible' option, to allow people to keep their profile in the system, but not publicly available...while they are exploring their new relationship...but that isn't something that is likely to be added immediately.)
So, hopefully there are some people who have 'met someone' on the sites, who are still here to answer.
Thanks,

The answer to the big question is yes! I have twice met in person someone I have contacted or have contacted me on this site. I am totally honest about that, I do not work for this site, it is true. Alot of people are looking for -------- h--k-ps, and flat out sex, they have not had it in awhile and need some stress relief. It is SO True....

`A Testimonial Section would be great! I would love to scan through a section where people discuss how they met someone and how it went.
What I would also like to see is a section discussing safe practices and bad meetings so others can learn from it.
All in all People do meet via the Internet. I feel that you can have a lasting relationship as long as your honest (don't post a photo that's not you), as long as you are serious and as long as you are open.
The BIGGEST ISSUE I've seen is people expecting someone to come to them. You should put in work searching, posting, mini messaging, emailing and just flat out looking. AND PLEASE Post A PHOTOGRAPH! I studied photography and people are FICKLE THEY WANT TO SEE SOMETHING... There are plently of guys I was interested in talking to but 80% of them don't have photos which tell me they're lazy and/or self conscious... Not attractive.

`I'm excited to see ppl posting. I mean, i just signed up not too long ago, but it seems seriously like a ghost town sometimes. Quezya, I agree with you, putting up a photo increases your chances of someone talking to you. It makes you wonder why some people just won't put one up? When they don't...all kids of scenarios run through my mind (what's he really look like? Is he really a he? how old is he really (not that you couldn't paste an old pic or someone else's for that matter)? ) and the ab shots lol...I always think of some guy saying "hey little lady...you're face could be here"...I would love to know what guys are thinking as they post their photos (not sarcastically...i would really like to know) versus women. Maybe guys and gals aren't on the same page when it comes to photos (but that seems silly...we are all complex beings). Anyway, I'm glad there's more traffic in the forums!

I think the bigger question is "What type of person is the member trying to attract". I think many guys just want to bed any woman who can be [easily] turned on by a "risque" photo. This takes a lot of the guess-work out of the equation. But frankly, I think it is because most men are [only] se---lly oriented and are clueless about the woman's mind (me included), so you get these peculiar photos in a feeble attempt to "attract a mate".
It would be so much easier for many men if women would wear a pin that indicated the woman's s----l interest with strangers ... Yes, No, Maybe, Check Back Tomorrow, etc
